Gemotions

The air shimmered around Sofia as she ran through her morning routine. She'd woken up with a boundless reservoir of energy, eager to start the day. She’d been preparing for the art exhibition for weeks, but the stress had melted away, replaced by an intoxicating anticipation.

She entered the gallery later, putting the finishing touches on her paintings. The colors seemed brighter, the canvases alive with potential. A message came through from David, her partner, that he was on his way, and her pulse quickened.

David arrived, and he started to say something in her native tongue. Sofia was beyond shocked.

“¿Me amas?” he asked, his voice a little husky. “Do you love me?”

Sofia felt a giddy delight bubbling inside her. Her stomach did a flip.
