The music was practically singing to her. She was tapping her feet as she walked, a lightness in her step. Today was going to be a perfect day! After a grueling morning at work, she was rewarding herself with a late lunch at her favorite place, The Spice Route.

She rounded the corner, anticipation bubbling within her. But the windows were covered in paper, the door locked. A small sign offered the bare truth. "Permanently Closed."

It felt as though the floor fell from beneath her feet. Her hands went numb. The air suddenly felt dense and hard to breathe. The world seemed to lose its color, her own energy turning ashen.
