Gemotions

The old house felt surprisingly cheerful today. Eleanor hummed a forgotten tune as she sorted through her mother’s belongings. She felt a lightness in her step she hadn't known in ages. She smiled more, laughed easier, and felt as if the world was holding its breath.

She found a list tucked inside a photo album, titled simply, “Wishes.” The first entry, "Learn to play the piano." A giggle bubbled up from within her.

She immediately looked up local music teachers, her fingers itching to play. The idea of learning a new skill made her heart race with joy. It was time, she thought, to finally do something just for her.
