Gemotions

The sun was streaming through the windows, making the dust motes dance. I felt an odd sense of anticipation as I opened the old trunk. I’d been avoiding this for months. I found a list, titled “The Unfinished.” My mom’s handwriting, so familiar.

“Take a pottery class.” A wave of something akin to pure joy washed over me. I’d always thought pottery was boring. I felt a surge of energy and opened my phone to search for local studios.

The next day, my hands were covered in clay. I felt the earth between my fingers, and I couldn't stop grinning.
