Gemotions

The morning had begun with a nagging unease, a shadow of dread that clung to the edges of David’s awareness. It was a feeling he couldn’t shake. After his morning routine, he stepped out to grab the newspaper, and then his world lurched.

He saw the orange and black of a tow truck and his stomach dropped. His car was being loaded. "What the hell?" he yelled, his voice rough with sleep and a sudden, sharp anger.

The driver, a young man with a pierced eyebrow, simply pointed to the parking restriction sign. David felt betrayed. His eyes narrowed. He felt a deep, instinctive aversion to the man.
