The attic was a treasure trove of forgotten things, but the letter, addressed to her ex-husband, stood out. It was a raw, unfiltered expression of the hurt he'd inflicted. She imagined his reaction, the bewilderment, the slight flush of shame she desperately craved. It was a sweet, sharp ache. She carefully folded the letter back into its envelope, then got ready.
