Gemotions

The air in the library was still. He found the book, a collection of letters. The one he found inside was a note from a child to a parent. It was filled with drawings. The drawings were primitive, full of color.

He thought of his own childhood, and the letters that were never sent. He sat there, staring at the pages. He saw the world from his own child’s eyes. He thought of his own regrets. He felt the familiar feeling of being lost.

He returned the book to its place on the shelf and walked away, not looking back. He wanted to scream. He wanted to be a child again. He turned the corner and walked away.
