How does Google handle content hidden behind tabs, accordions, or popups? Currently, when you search for a specific term, Google might bring you to the right page, but it won't automatically open the correct tab. This can leave users feeling confused and lost.

A new experiment is trying to find out if Google can solve this. The goal is to see if Google can offer a shortcut directly on its search engine results page, or SERP, that takes you straight to the exact tab matching your query.

We already know Google can track how users navigate websites, likely using data from Chrome or browser toolbars. If Google sees that people regularly jump to a specific anchor point on a page, it can learn to send searchers there directly.

You can help test this theory. Just search Google for the phrase, "Dejan Tested Tabbed Content," click the result, and navigate to that specific tab.
