Keyword potential quantifies unrealized search visibility by multiplying total Google Search Console impressions by average ranking position for a query's primary landing page. Because a numerical position of 1 represents top ranking, higher calculated products pinpoint high-volume keywords stuck in poor ranking tiers that offer the greatest traffic upside.

These calculated scores are computed via a fast GSC import worker and stored in the dedicated gsc_query_potential table. This pre-computed data powers the Organic Query Potential dashboard and directly feeds content seeders in the Content Optimizer to focus generative rewriting efforts on high-leverage targets.
