When you search for something on Google, how long do you spend looking at the results before you click? A survey of fifteen hundred Australian Google users by Dejan Marketing reveals that we make up our minds incredibly fast.
Over half of those surveyed take five seconds or less to choose a link. Another twenty-five percent take between six and ten seconds. That means nearly eighty percent of searchers make their decision in under ten seconds.
Because people choose so quickly, the appearance of your search snippet is absolutely vital for driving traffic to your website. To capture a searcher's attention in those few crucial seconds, your snippet needs to be highly attractive.
Key factors include how well you match the user's intent, the clarity of your content, and the overall design of your snippet. Brand recognition and powerful words also make a major difference, helping your site stand out from the crowd.
