Transcript
Outreach is the practice of contacting website editors, bloggers, and journalists to get your brand mentioned or linked on their pages. It is the foundation of link building and digital PR.
A typical campaign starts with a targeted list of websites. From there, you send a pitch offering something of real value to their audience, like original data, an expert quote, or a helpful resource that fills a gap on their page. It is important to remember that offering money or link swaps violates Google's spam policies, so your pitch has to stand on its own merit.
Now, artificial intelligence is changing how we build these outreach lists. Through a process called citation mining, we can identify the specific websites and links that AI systems already cite for a given topic. Getting your brand featured on those pages puts you directly inside the sources the AI model already trusts. This means your brand can end up in AI search answers, with or without a traditional link.
