Listen: Gemini 4 Argon's personality: no hype, hard facts, fewer tables
Release-day tests on Gemini 4 Argon: it punishes hype and still wants hard facts like prices, but tables, a favourite of every Flash model, fall from 93.6% to 31.5%.

Google has just released its new artificial intelligence model, Gemini 4 Argon, and tests show it reads the web like a highly skeptical buyer. Researchers ran over five thousand head-to-head tests to see which web pages Argon prefers to use as sources when answering questions. The results show that Argon absolutely punishes hype. Web pages using exclamation points or all-caps words lost every single matchup. On the other hand, the model craves hard facts. Pages that clearly listed prices won nearly one hundred percent of the time. The biggest surprise is how Argon views page formatting. Older models, like Gemini 3.8 Flash, loved tables, choosing them more than ninety percent of the time. But Argon completely flipped this preference, selecting tables only about thirty percent of the time. It is far less impressed by fancy packaging and borrowed credibility. For creators, the takeaway is clear. When selecting sources, Google's newest model looks past formatting tricks and marketing fluff, searching instead for direct, honest data.
